FiestyUseful status at the edge of attention.
Fiesty is a small Windows desktop companion that shows the shared Codex and ChatGPT Work allowance. It explores how useful status can sit at the edge of attention instead of demanding another full application window.
At a glance
- The problem
- Checking an allowance should not require opening another full application.
- My contribution
- Shaped glanceable status, hover detail, direct placement and explicit exit behavior.
- The outcome
- A standalone Windows utility with hover details, dragging and right-click exit.

The problem & my role
A small status utility needs to communicate enough at a glance while leaving the user’s main work alone.
What I owned
I shaped a compact interaction model: persistent ambient status, more detail on hover, direct movement and an explicit way to quit.
- Surface
- Always on top
- Disclosure
- Hover for detail
- Control
- Drag to move
Key design decisions
Keep the resting surface compact and reserve detail for deliberate attention.
Outcome & reflection
A standalone Windows executable supports hover details, dragging and right-click exit.
The interaction diagram explains the concept; it is not a capture of the running utility. No measured productivity gain is claimed.
What I would test next
Review the balance between visibility, distraction and helpful detail in ordinary use.
